We are pleased to announce the the Cold Spring Harbor Asia conference on Yeast and Life Sciences will be held in Matsue, Japan. Matsue is the capital city of Shimane Prefecture, in Southwest Japan. Known as the “City of Water”, Matsue stands by the Sea of Japan where Lake Shinji and Nakaumi meet, in the middle of Shimane Peninsula.

The conference will begin at 7:00pm on the evening of Monday October 9, and will conclude on Friday October 13, 2023. The conference will include eight oral sessions and one poster session covering the latest findings across many topics in yeast. Short talks will be selected from the openly submitted abstracts on the basis of scientific merit and relevance. Social events throughout the conference provide ample opportunity for informal interactions. 

Conference Venue & Accommodation
Cold Spring Harbor Asia conferences in JAPAN are arranged in Kunibiki Messe (Shimane Prefectural Convention Center)(https://www.kunibikimesse.jp/ ), which is The biggest convention center in Shimane prefecture, Kunibiki Messe, is located in the center of Matsue City. There are different kinds of hotels near the  conference center. The accommondation booking URL will be sent to you after completion of meeting registration.


Access to the venue

The biggest convention center in Shimane prefecture, Kunibiki Messe, is located in the center of Matsue City. It only takes 7 minutes on foot from JR Matsue Station to Kunibiki Messe.

To access Matsue, there are 5 flights/day from Tokyo Haneda Airport to Izumo Airport and 6 flights/day to Yonago Airport, and both airports can be reached in 30 to 40 minutes by bus. In addition, there are two flights a week from Shanghai(Pudong Airport) and Hong Kong International Airport to Yonago Airport. The domestics flights from major city like Osaka(Itami), Fukuoka, etc. are also available to Izumo Airport every day. Domestic railways from Tokyo, Osaka, Hakata are connected to JR Matsue Station by transfer from Okayama or Hiroshima City.

We encourage abstracts to contain new and unpublished materials. The abstracts must be submitted electronically by the abstract deadline. Selection of material for oral and poster presentation will be made by the organizers. Status (fellow's talk/poster) of abstracts will be posted on our web site as soon as decisions have been made by the organizers. 

Fellowship: 
We are eager to have as many young people as possible to attend our international meetings since they are likely to benefit most from meeting other international colleagues in the same field. A certain number of presentations by graduate students and postdocs in this conference will be selected as fellowship (USD $100 - $500) awards after the meeting to off set the registration fee. Announcements of the awardees will be made during the Banquet of the meeting.
