CSHA Ken-Ichi Arai Auditing Program

The late Prof. Ken-Ichi Arai was the director of the Institute of Medical Science (IMSUT) of Tokyo University in the 90s. He was the pioneer of setting up pan-Asia Pacific international scientific interaction platform. Together with other scientific leaders in the region Prof. Arai established the Asia International Molecular Biology Network, or A-IMBN in 1997. Since then A-IMBN has organized many scientific events including annual conferences throughout the Asia Pacific region. Prof. Arai is remembered as a scientist with grand international vision, extraordinary kindness and huge generosity.

CSHA is a recipient of his tremendous kindness and support, especially during our inaugural years in early 2000s, without which our meetings in Japan would not be so well received and recognised. Therefore, it would be our honour to establish a free auditing program for young scientists to participate in CSHA’s meetings in Japan under Prof. Ken-Ichi Arai’s name to payback his kindness and support with a goal of promoting international scientific interaction and communication, particularly among the future generations of scientists in life sciences.
